About the Brownsburg Rotary Club

Brownsburg Rotary Club History:

The Brownsburg Rotary Club was chartered in 1989, with 20 members, 3 who still remain in the club today.  Membership has grown to 41!

We are extremely active in our community, and we interact occasionally with other civic clubs.  Every December we play “Santa Claus” to the residents of the Hendricks County Home.  We fulfill their Christmas lists out of our own pockets.  We have done this for nearly 20 years.  Each Holiday Season our members sell Mike’s Express carwashes to their friends, families and area businesses to help raise money to support endeavors such as Sheltering Wings battered women’s temporary home and Rails to Trails, a group that helps to beautify America by saving abandoned railroad corridors and local scholarships.

It is our pleasure to honor a Brownsburg Town Employee each year with a special award and luncheon.

The Brownsburg Rotary Club also sponsors an Interact Club at Brownsburg High School.  Interact is Rotary International’s service club for young people ages 14 to 18.  We are lucky to have such wonderful and active students participating in the Interact Club!

We maintain our international avenue of service by helping to support an orphanage in Kimberly, South Africa.  We have met our “sister” club of Rotarians in Kimberly through two video conferences.  It is wonderful that we can hold a “joint meeting” when we are half way around the world during the meeting!  We enjoy our new friends and appreciate the opportunity of helping them clothe and aid these children.  In addition, we recently donated funds along with the Noblesville midday club to enable a van to be purchased for much needed transportation in Grahamstown, South Africa.

The camaraderie this brings to our club is wonderful.  All of these projects bring our members great personal satisfaction.  We have fun and we get the job done!
